Privacy Policy

Your PDF stays on your device. We collect a small set of usage statistics to see whether conversions work. This page explains exactly what.

Your PDF and its text

• Your PDF is read and converted in your browser tab. The file, its name and its text are not uploaded to our server and are not included in usage statistics.
• The site does not store your file or the result in the browser (no cookies, local storage or offline caches). Choosing “Convert another PDF” or closing the tab removes it from the page; we can’t control what your browser or operating system keeps in memory afterwards.
• A Markdown file you download stays on your device.

Usage statistics

When you use the converter, the page sends short records to our own server (pdfintomd.com/events). Each record contains only:

• the step: file chosen, file refused, conversion started, finished, failed or cancelled, download requested, copy succeeded, or your answer to “Is this Markdown usable?”;
• a random ID for this browser tab, a random ID for this conversion attempt and a random ID for the record itself, created fresh each time and not stored in your browser;
• time, site version, and which page of the site you are on;
• size and page-count ranges (for example “100 KB–1 MB”, “2–5 pages”), duration, the fixed error or warning code, and for a cancelled conversion whether you cancelled it, replaced the file or started over;
• the kind of site that sent you (direct, search, social or other) — worked out in your browser; the address of that site is not sent;
• whether the attempt used our sample PDF or was an internal test.

Records never include your file, its name, its text, full web addresses, search terms or your IP address. The statistics server uses the network address of each request only in memory, to limit how many records one visitor can send per minute; the address is not written to the records or to logs. We use the records only to count how many conversions succeed, fail or get exported, and why. They are not used for advertising, not combined with other data and not sold.

Raw records are deleted after 30 days. Daily totals are kept for 90 days. If the statistics endpoint is blocked or unavailable, the converter works the same.

Server logs

Our web server keeps no access logs of page requests. The statistics server logs only the kind of request and its result (for example “POST /events 202”), without addresses. The shared reverse proxy in front of them does not keep access logs for this website either. It records technical events, such as certificate renewals.

If the reverse proxy fails to forward a request, it may record a technical error message. A retention period for these technical records has not been set yet.

Email

Messages to support@pdfintomd.com are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to the Gmail inbox we use for support. Cloudflare keeps a record of each forwarded message, including the sender, recipient and subject; according to Cloudflare’s documentation, these records are kept for 31 days. Google stores the messages in our inbox and may process them on servers outside your country.

Our replies are sent from that Gmail account through Resend. Resend sends them from its Ireland region, and stores account data, including email metadata and logs, in the United States.

We use your message and address only to answer you and to handle follow-up questions about it. We keep support messages in the inbox for as long as we need them for that; we have not set a fixed deletion period yet.

Service providers

• Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting of this website and of the usage statistics, on a server in Germany.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — domain name service and forwarding of email to support@pdfintomd.com.
• Google LLC (United States) — the Gmail inbox for support email.
• Resend (United States) — sending our email replies.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Some of them are based in the United States or process data outside your country.

Your choices and rights

You can use the converter without an account. Usage records are not linked to your identity, so we usually can’t find records about you. You can ask us to see, correct or delete the emails and other personal data we hold about you, or to stop using them, by writing to support@pdfintomd.com. We will answer your request.

Who is responsible

PDF into MD is operated by DMYTRO SERHIIEV, Individual Entrepreneur, Ukraine. The operator decides how the personal data described on this page is used. Contact: support@pdfintomd.com.

Changes

If what we collect changes, we will update this page before the change takes effect. Paid OCR, if introduced, would involve uploading files; this policy would describe that before any upload is possible.
